• At its February 2025 meeting, the church session reviewed the feedback
  from the congregation on each proposed project from the Feasibility-
  Readiness Study Report.
• After deliberation, the priority of projects was set and is reflected in the
  Vision Brochure.

• The 2025 annual budget was presented at the February Annual
  Congregational Meeting, and it is completely unaffected by the Embracing
  Hope, Inspiring Futures campaign.
• Our 2025 operating budget included increases in many of our key program
  areas, such as Christian education for all ages, music, deacon ministry,
  and unified mission.
• If you would like a copy of our 2025 budget, contact the church office.

• Over the three-year length of the campaign, as donations are received
  and when there is enough money to pay for projects in order of their
  priority, planning and work will commence.
• Current costs and progress will be regularly communicated to the
  congregation.

• These issues were not overlooked at the inception of the study of our
  building needs. In the end, the study committee prioritized the ‘catch-up’
  maintenance of our building as having more urgency.
• This does not mean we will not consider, for example, solar panels or automatic ADA-compliant doors, in the future.

• We believe quality, family-focused programs and events will attract young
  families and also children through young adults.
• Having fully functional, safe, modern, and attractive facilities puts
  everyone at ease. When families are provided with a comfortable location,
  they are more likely to return in the future.
• Our goal is to be a place where everyone will want to stay for an event
  and invite their friends to the next one. For example, a fully functioning
  kitchen, enabling traditional events like the SOTV Preschool Pasketti
  Dinner, will facilitate greater interaction between preschool families and
  our whole church community.

 The session decided to start with the sealing and restriping the parking lot, because we have the funds and Spring is the best time to do this work before the intense heat of summer. This will be completed by the end of April! The next project we plan to do is the kitchen remodel, hopefully over the summer.  Regular updates will be given throughout the process. As additional funds are available, our other projects will commence

• The Session has not finalized all the details of the remodel yet, but a main
  part of the remodel will be to remove cabinets and counters and replace
  them completely.
• Because the original remodel plan was established over 18 months ago,
  the Session has determined another listening session (feedback) with the
  congregation is needed.
• This opportunity for feedback is scheduled for May 4th immediately following worship. If you have feedback, but are unable to attend this gathering, please email the campaign co-chairs.

• For the most part, we will use full-time contractors. Having professional
  contractors reduces risk related to personal injury and ensures building-
  code compliance.
• Where it makes sense to complete some finish work that is within the skill
  set of church volunteers, we may take advantage of that.
• If volunteers are utilized, the Finance and Property, and Congregation
  Engagement Committees will coordinate that.

• We are fortunate to have paid off our building mortgage several years ago.
  Our hope is that bank loans are not necessary to address a critical need
  such as a leaking roof.
• The cost of interest on loans, through a mortgage or simple loans, would
  need to come from our annual operating budget. That additional cost will
  be significant and could negatively impact our program expenses.
• The Presbytery is not in a financial position to assist a campaign of this
  scope.

• Projects further down the priority list will not start for several months or
  more.
• Please contact the Campaign Co-Chairs (John Sewell and Doug Tarr) or
  your Elders (members of your elected Session) to express your concerns
  and views.

• Because we have tremendous hope for the future of our congregation, we
  are reinvesting the gifts that God has provided. Moreover, we want to
  ensure that our actions demonstrate how much we care about our
  community.
• A significant part of our outreach is welcoming many different community
  groups to use our facility during the week, such as support and recovery
  groups. By regularly maintaining and updating our place of gathering, we
  enable future generations to have that same opportunity to gather for
  worship and reach out to the community when their time comes.
