Job Title: Part-Time Youth and Young Families Ministry Coordinator
Reports to: Pastor
Location: 1801 Montaño Rd NW, Albuquerque, NM
Hours: 15-20 hours per week (flexible schedule requiring evenings and weekends)
Compensation: $25/hour
Primary Responsibilities
We are seeking an energetic, relational, and faith-driven leader to coordinate and grow our ministry with young families and children birth-12th grade. Responsibilities include:
- Work in cooperation with the Christian Education committee and the Pastor to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement spiritually-based programs for the children, youth, and young families of the church.
- Plan and lead regular gatherings—fellowship, Bible discussions, games, and community-building activities.
- Organize and oversee mission opportunities in the local community (e.g., food distribution, outreach events).
- Coordinate special events throughout the year, making church a place where young families and their children love to be.
– Encourage child and youth involvement in the life of the church, including worship, outreach, and intergenerational activities.
– Lead or support educational classes for youth when scheduled.
– Communicate regularly with parents, as well as the greater church membership, and encourage family involvement.
– Comply with all church policies and procedures as well as all federal and state laws.
– Pass a comprehensive background check.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
– At least 2 years of experience working with children/youth, preferably in a church or nonprofit setting.
– A strong Christian faith and alignment with the values of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
- Passion for spiritual formation and helping young people grow in their faith.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- A self-starter with creative ideas and strong follow through.
- The ability to foster a safe, affirming, and inclusive space for all youth.
– Creativity and flexibility to adapt programs to the needs of our youth and families.
– A willingness to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and volunteers.
Bonus Qualifications (Not Required):
– Experience with outdoor or service-based mission projects
– Familiarity with PC(USA) theology and resources
