Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church

Children and youth form a vital part of the SOTV community. We involve them in worship and provide opportunities for them to engage faith at their developmental level. From mission trips to summer camp and programs, we seek to engage our young people and help them feel grounded in loving community as they launch into their lives.

“I’ve loved seeing the light bulb moments of our son realizing that there’s something bigger than him and that he is truly loved.”

“Our youth group is a place where they feel safe to explore and grow.”

Youth Connecting with Each Other and Exploring Their Faith

We provide a variety of ways for our young people to connect with one another and explore their faith. At 11:00 we have two classes. Youth 5th-8th grade meet in the youth room for a study that allows them to ask questions and wrestle with faith. Youth 9th-12th grade meet in the choir room for a discussion group that invites them to share life experiences and grow in their faith. Also at 11:00 is the practice for our youth praise band in the sanctuary.

At 12:00 all youth gather in the library for lunch. From 12:30-2:00, youth group is offered for 9th-12th gathers, and includes service projects, Scripture study, talks from community mentors, and opportunities to invite friends.
